Chris Wilkinswrote these words in an effort to come to terms with his eminent execution and seek funding for cremation/mementos. He is 45 years old and was recently denied by the 5th Circuit. He is now awaiting an execution date at any time.

I have been a scourge on society; a burden to family, friends, and The State for far too long. Currently I am seeking the funds necessary to cover the simplest cremation/mementos. Nothing extravagant; bare bones costs--The State of Texas will merely only bury the remains. All that remains--let's make damn sure there are no remains. All that remains will be ash and dust. L'association Lutte Pour la Justice (LPJ) a été créée en 1999 pour soutenir Odell Barnes Jr., jeune afro-américain condamné à mort en 1991 à Huntsville (Texas) pour un crime qu'il n'avait pas commis et exécuté le 1er mars 2000 à l'aube de ses 32 ans. En sa mémoire et à sa demande, l'association se consacre à la lutte pour l'abolition de la peine de mort aux Etats-Unis et en particulier au Texas.
